Lots of Layers at Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Hope you are all managing to stay warm and safe, especially if you are affected by the snow.  We have had a couple of little flurries here but it has not settled.  As it is quite cold at the moment I am planning a weekend in my crafty room.  Certainly not planning on going out unless I have to lol.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Lots of Layers

Don't forget that you are not restricted to just christmas projects at the moment.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from one of our sponsors, Kenny K.

I used lots of scraps of paper from my scraps box for all the layers.  These were all matted onto blue pearlescent card.  The image was coloured in promarkers.  After putting the card together I used a stencil and distress ink for the musical notes.  A sentiment and some card candi finished the card.

I do hope you will join us at Winter Wonderland.  We have two great sponsors this week:

Just pop over to Winter Wonderland for full challenge details. Don't forget to check out the awesome work from my talented teamies.

Anything Goes at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
First of all can I say thank you for all the kind comments about my Mother-In-Law and her knee replacement operation.  She is doing okay although in a bit of pain.  She had the operation on Saturday and they have had her out of bed walking with a frame.  Today they are going to show her how to walk up steps safely.  I think the plan is to have her out of hospital tomorrow or Friday. My Mum is going to be staying with her for a few days to make sure she is okay.  At least we can go to work in the knowledge that she is going to be well looked after.

Anyway, I am popping by today as a new challenge is starting over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Anything Goes

We have two great sponsors joining us:
Lacy Sunshine - with a prize of a $20 gift certificate to the winner and
Dr Digi - with a prize of 2 digi images of the winners choice

Here is my inspiration project using a cute image from Lacy Sunshine called Lizabeth Butterfly Kisses.

I decided to use my favourite colour of purple for this creation.  The embossing folder at the top of the card is a patchwork folder from Docrafts.  The image is coloured in promarkers and I kept the colours quite soft.  For embellishments I die cut a butterfly using a freebie die from a craft magazine.  I also added some roses, pearls and some ribbon.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the super creations from my talented teamies.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Thank You Flowers

Hi Folks
Well the weekend is nearly over.  I have had a busy weekend working on wedding stuff.  We have also been up to the hospital this afternoon as my Mother-In-Law had a knee replacement operation yesterday.  She is very sore but hoping that this will help with her mobility.  She is in her late seventies but still leads a very active life.  Hopefully, she will be out on Thursday.  I will let you know how she gets on.

Today I thought I would share a card that I made using a new stamp set from Honey Doo Crafts that I got just before christmas.  The stamp set is called Flowers for design and this is the first card I have made using it.

I used one of my favourite embossing folders for the background.  I find this embossing folder so versatile and love the images on it.  I embossed a piece of white card and then cut a circle aperture in the centre.  For the centre of the aperture I used the stamps and stamped onto vellum using versamark.  This was then embossed with white embossing powder.  I used various shades of purple promarkers to colour the flowers.  The vellum was mounted onto purple card and then the embossed piece mounted on top.  I stamped, embossed and coloured two of the larger flowers.  These were curled for added dimension and then stuck on the card around the aperture.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set that I have and this was also embossed with white embossing powder on vellum before cutting out and mounting onto purple card.  Some purple gems and sparkly dazzlers to the centre of the flowers finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  A bit different for me but love the effect.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Countryview - Use something new (stamps)
Crafty Calendar - What's new (stamps)
Jellypark - Bling it up
Penny Black and More - Stencils, masks, embossing folders

Anything Goes at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope all is well and you are all managing to stay warm.  There is talk of us possibly having some snow today.  It certainly feels cold enough but I have no interest in seeing snow.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Anything Goes

We have two great sponsors this week:
Karleigh Sue - prize of $10 store credit
Dianes Daydream Designs - prize of $15 gift code to their store

Here is my inspiration project using a cute image from Dianes Daydream Designs.  It is from a set called Tea and Roses.

I used the precoloured version of the image which makes for a quick card. I used blue cardstock for all the matting and the backing paper was in my scraps box. Some old papers I got free in a magazine many months ago.  For embellishments I added some ribbon, punched corners, a rosette and some buttons.  The sentiment is part of a stamp set that I have.  I thought it suited the image perfectly. Glossy accents were added to the tea part of the image.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries to the challenge.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Golden Tones

Hi Folks
Hope you have all had a good weekend.  I was working on Saturday and have spent today finalising wedding invites for my daughter.  I can now make a start as we need them done by the end of February.

Today I want to share a card with you that I made quite a while ago but never got round to blogging.  I discovered a folder on my computer that has loads of cards in it that have not been blogged yet.  So expect to see more of these in the coming weeks.

I took some gold card and used Imagination Crafts sparkle medium in gold through one of their border stencils - Leaf Swirl border.  When it was dry I cut an aperture out of the centre and mounted onto some lighter gold card.  For the flowers I used the Daisy decoupage stamp from Imagination Crafts and stamped several times onto vellum using versamark and white embossing powder.  I cut the flowers out and mounted them around the aperture.  The sentiment stamp is also from Imagination Crafts.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Will definitely be doing this one again but using different colours and sentiment stamps.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Imagination Crafts - Anything goes

Lots of Layers at the Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Today I am popping by to share some inspiration for our current challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is
Lots of Layers
and we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.

Here is my inspiration project using a cute friend sign image from Bugaboo.

I coloured the friends sign with promarkers using a selection of soft blues and pinks.  I also added some stickles to some of the elements but this doesn't show up very well in the photo.  Some faux stitching was added around the edge before matting onto some light brown card.  The background is made up of three layers (brown card, pink card and the striped paper).  For finishing touches I added some flowers, ric rac ribbon, a butterfly and some punched corners.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will check out the challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Hats or Valentine at Crafting Musketeers

Hi Folks
Welcome back for my second post of the day.

I am popping by to share some inspiration for our current challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is:
Hats and/or Valentines

Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine with a prize of some digis for the winner.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Lacy Sunshine called Cupid Sugi.

I went for both the hat and valentine theme.  I coloured the image using my promarkers and cut out using one of my oval dies.  The backing paper is from First Edition (Love Letters).  The card blank was made using my Martha Stewart punch around the page.  I used some of the hearts that came out of the punch as embellishments.  I just added some colour and glitter to them.  The final embellishments were a rose, some feathers and a sentiment from my stash.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will join in with the challenge.  Just pop over to Crafting Musketeers for full challenge details.

Show Us Your Metal at Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Hope you are all managing to stay safe and warm with this very cold weather we seem to be having at the moment.  When that wind blows at the moment it feels so cold.  Unfortunately, my office is not the warmest so having to sit there with a heater next to me.  Roll on summer is what I say.  I am working tomorrow as well so not much crafty time this weekend.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Metal
You can enter with any project you like and it doesn't have to be a christmas project.

Here is my inspiration project.

I received some chocolates in a lovely little gold box for christmas.  I decided to recycle the box and alter it.  I went around the edges of the box with some gilding flakes for a more aged look before adding some papers from my scraps box.  Around the top of the box I added some lace.  As you can see I used a metal flower and some metal leaves as embellishments on top of the box.  A couple of punched butterflies and some pearls finished the project.

Our sponsor for the challenge at Winter Wonderland is:

with a prize of a £10 voucher for the winner.

Thanks for popping by and I am looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland to check out the full challenge details.  Don't forget to take a peek at the lovely creations from my talented teamies.

Sparkle N Sprinkle - choice of 3 digi sets from SNS exclusive stamps for the winner

I found these cute little bags in my local craft shop when I was spending my christmas money. They are from Docrafts.  I used the precoloured version of the images.  These were matted onto a die cut circle and I added some glamour dust to the images for added sparkle.  This doesn't show up very well in the photo.  The sentiment was also from the digi stamp set.  Some ribbon, punched corners and gems finished the little gift bags.  Super cute for small presents I thought.

A CAS card and some exciting news

Hi Folks
Hope you are all okay and it is now back to normality for me after the christmas and new year festivities.  2015 is set to be a good year for us.  Our eldest daughter is getting married in June to a wonderful bloke.  We are so looking forward to it and I have already started doing her wedding stationery.  I am only working four days a week now and am able to spend more time in my crafty room.  Good times indeed.

Anyway, I have some exciting news to share with you today.  I have been invited to join the new digi stamp team over at Little Claire's.  I love working with digi stamps as I find them so versatile.  We will be running montly challenges and the first monthly challenge will be on January 14th.  Make sure you check it out.

To celebrate my news I decided to make a CAS new home card using a Little Claire's stamp set called At Home which can be found here.

As you can see I simply stamped the image and one of the sentiments onto white card.  The only colour I added was some red promarker to the hearts.  This was then matted onto some red cardstock and some polka dot ribbon added to the bottom.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really enjoy reading all your comments.

Favourite Colour Combo with Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Welcome to my first blog post of 2015.  I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.  I had a lovely time with family and friends on New Years Eve but was nursing a hangover yesterday.  I spent the day in my pyjamas curled up on the sofa watching TV.  Very lazy but nice to have a relaxed day.  Back to work and normality today before a weekend of crafting.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Your Favourite Colour Combo
As it is the start of the year you can enter with any project at all, it does not have to be christmas related.

Here is my inspiration project featuring my favourite colour combo, anything purple related.

This card was made for some special friends of ours for christmas.  The images are from a Lily of the Valley paper pad.  Delightful images and make for really quick cards.  I used mirror card for the matting and layering.  I punched some snowflakes out of glitter card and added some ribbon, a big bow, dazzler and sentiment.
