Let's Get Sentimental with Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Well, it's finally Friday but not much of a weekend for me as I am working tomorrow.  Hopefully, we won't be too busy at work.  I plan on spending some crafty time on Sunday.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Let's Get Sentimental
There has to be a sentiment on your project but it doesn't have to be the main focus (unless you want it to be, of course).

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Delicious Doodles, one of our sponsors.

This is such a lovely image and I just added some stickles for added sparkle.  You can't really see it too well on the photo but it does sparkle in real life.  I used some black card and silver mirror card for the matting.  The background is embossed with my spotty embossing folder.  The sentiment is from an Imagination Crafts stencil.  I used versamark through the stencil and then embossed with white embossing powder.  A couple of poinsettias finished the card.

For the Winter Wonderland challenge we have 3 great sponsors:

Delicious Doodles - prize of 4 digi images of the winners choice

Digital Delights - prize of a $5 voucher

Clickit4crafts - prize of an amazing $35 worth of products of the winners choice

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the super inspiration from my talented teamies.

Anything But A Card with The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Well, I managed to get all my decorating done at the weekend.  Just got a bit of woodwork to paint but that can be done in the evenings.  I am really happy with the way my lounge looks.  Hopefully, my new sofas will be arriving in a couple of weeks as the old ones do look a bit out of place at the moment lol.

I am here today to share some inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is:
Not a Card
So you can enter with anything you like as long as it is not a card.  It could be a tag, box, bag or something completely different.

We have two great sponsors joining us this month:
Delicious Doodles - a prize of 4 digi images of the winners choice
Artbymiran - a prize of 3 digi images of the winners choice

Here is my inspiration project using a lovely image from Delicious Doodles 'Jolly Holly Postbox'.

As you can see I decided to make a milk carton box for christmas.  I used a basic template that I have for the box but adjusted the sizing to take account of the image size.  I coloured the image using promarkers and added some red stickles for the berries.  After using some distress ink around the edges I matted onto red card.  For the remaining panels on the milk carton I used some paper from Papermania.  This again was distressed with red ink around the edges and matted onto red card.  A little bow was the finishing touch.  To fasten the box I used a couple of mini pegs.  I really didn't feel that the box needed anything else.

Here is another view:

As you can see I went and made a christmas cracker.  This one is a bit different as it is a triangular cracker.  I used my hougie board to score and make the cracker.  I then simply decorated with some glitter strips, the image matted onto black cardstock, some poinsettias and ribbon.  These would make a lovely addition to any christmas table.

Anything Goes with Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  I am in the middle of doing some decorating at the moment so not much time for crafting.  Should be done by Monday and then we just have to wait for the new sofas to arrive.

Today I would like to share some mid month inspiration for our current challenge over at Imagination Crafts challenges.  This is my last post as part of the design team for Imagination Crafts.  I made the decision to step down from the team as I am struggling to find the time to do a lot of crafting at the moment.  I also have my daughters wedding next year which is going to take up a lot of my crafting hours.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team.  Thanks to Linda and also to Sue and Harvey at Imagination Crafts for giving me the opportunity to be on the team.

Anyway, here is my inspiration project for our current Anything Goes challenge.

I used a lovely panel stencil called christmas holly and stencilled through using sparkle medium.  The patterned card is also from Imagination Crafts.  Whilst the sparkle medium was drying I used a christmas script stamp to stamp onto some white card to act as a background for the panel stencil.  I added some red velvet ribbon and poinsettias to one side of the white card before mounting onto red card.  Some liquid pearls were the finishing touch.

Thanks for popping by and hope you have enjoyed the Imagination Crafts projects that I have shown you over the past few months.  The current challenge is Anything Goes.  Don't forget that if you use any Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 gift voucher.  Just pop over to the Imagination Crafts challenge blog for full details.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Well, another week has flown by and today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Use black cardstock somewhere on your project

We have three great sponsors for this challenge:
Just check out Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details including the prizes on offer for the winners.  Don't forget to check out the super inspiration projects from my talented teamies.

Here is my inspiration project using an image and sentiment from Dianes Daydream Designs.

I decided to go for a clean and simple design letting the image and sentiment speak for itself.  I printed the image and sentiment onto white card which I then matted onto black cardstock.  Some ribbon, punched corners and black gems finished the card.  I also went around the edge with some faux stitching.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.

Emporium of Curiosities

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  I managed to get caught up on some crafting on Saturday and then started some decorating on Sunday.  I am having a few days off at the end of this week to get our dining room and lounge decorated before christmas.  Not really looking forward to doing it but looking forward to the end result.

Today I thought I would share a sample I made for the launch of the new Kraftyhands CD 'Emporium of Curiosities'.  The CD is full of artwork and papers and is suited for making both female and male cards.  The CD is being launched on The British Craft Network during November so keep your eyes peeled for it.  A great one to add to your collections.

I decided to go for a male creation using images and papers from the CD.  I cut the front of the card diagonally to create a bit of interest.  I used some blue cardstock for the matting and added some wooden cogs from my stash as embellishments.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Thank you all for the lovely comments you have been leaving me.  My apologies if I have not been by to comment on your lovely blogs.  Not enough hours in the day at the moment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

All of the papers and elements are from the CD.  I simply added green mirror card for the matting and a lovely bow.

Frosty The Snowman at Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and sending big hugs to anyone who might need it.  I am looking forward to a weekend of craftyfun and relaxation.  Hoping to make a big dent in my christmas card makes.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Frosty the Snowman
You can create anything you like as long as you follow the theme and it is a christmas creation.

Here is my inspiration project.

I decided to go for something different this time and do something in non traditional christmas colours.  All of the elements on this card were also old items from my stash.  I can't even tell you where they all came from.  The words and stars at the bottom have been glittered using glamour dust.

We have two sponsors for this week's challenge at Winter Wonderland

with a prize of a stamp being given to the winner.

Thanks for popping by and hoping you will join in with the challenge. Just pop over to Winter Wonderland to check out full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the lovely creations from my talented teamies.

Anything Goes with Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Thank goodness it's the weekend.  Looking forward to two days of no work.  I just want to say thank you for all your lovely comments and messages regarding my hospital appointment.  It has really given me a boost and hopefully, if I make a few changes in my lifestyle, I can avoid surgical treatment.  The next 3 months will tell.

Anyway, as it's the first of the month, today sees the start of a new monthly challenge over at Imagination Crafts challenge blog.  Our theme, is as always:
Anything Goes
Don't forget that if you do use any products from Imagination Crafts on your project you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.  A really great prize.

Here is my inspiration project using a stencil, inkadinks and sparkle medium.

I used some inkadinks to create the colour washed background on white glossy card.  When it was dry I used the Joy christmas stencil with sparkle medium.  I used black stars as I wanted it to stand out against the black background.  This was then mounted onto some black card.  I wrapped some christmas ribbon around the bottom and added some gems to the snowflakes.  A really quick and simple card to do but very effective.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Imagination Crafts challenge blog for full challenge details.  My teamies have been hard at work creating some gorgeous inspiration for you too.
