Layer It Up at Winter Wonderland

Hi Folks
This is a scheduled post as I will be on my way to Wales for the weekend when this goes live. I won't be back until Monday so forgive me if I don't get round to do any commenting.  I am not sure what the internet access will be while we are away.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Layer It Up

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Kenny K.

I decided to make a little christmas gift bag.  The image was coloured in promarkers and I then fussy cut around it.  The papers are all from my christmas stash box.  I think they are from Papermania but don't quote me on that.  The mini poinsettias were the finishing touch.  Not quite as layered as I would have liked but I got a bit carried away when making it and totally forgot about the theme.  Oops!!

Our fab sponsor for this week is:

Kenny K with a fab prize of 3 digi images to the winner.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Winter Wonderland for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the wonderful inspiration projects from my talented teamies.

It's All About the Spots and Stripes

Hi Folks
Halfway through the working week but my last day at work till next Wednesday.  It has been an intense four weeks since I started my new job but feel I have got to grips with it.  Certainly a busy job but the days pass by so quickly.  Really looking forward to my weekend away though.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Spots and Stripes
You can enter any project you like but we do need to see both spots and stripes.

We have two great sponsors joining us this week:
StampArt Design - prize of 5 digi images to the winner
Fred She Said - prize of a $15 gift certificate

Here is my inspiration project using a super christmas image from Fred She Said.

I cut out the main image and matted onto some green cardstock.  This was then matted onto some polka dot paper and more green card.  I cut out an extra image of each poinsettia and glittered them before sticking them on to add dimension.  I also added some glossy accents to the holly berries and the centre of the flowers.  The green ribbon and button finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the lovely projects from my talented teamies.

Vintage Using Craftwork Cards

Hi Folks
How are you all?  Well the weekend just flew by again.  Now I am back at work full time I love my weekends as this is the only crafty time I am getting at the moment.  Mind you I am only at work for three days this week and next week as we are away this weekend in Wales.  We always attend the Queen Fan Club Convention each year with our friends and it has rolled around again.  Looking forward to a great weekend of good music, catching up with friends and a bit of drinking added in too lol.

Today I thought I would share a card with you that I made quite a while ago.  I have used the Vogue collection from Craftwork Cards.

I used several of the different patterned papers to create a mosaic background onto mirror card.  The mannequin and flowers are also from the collection.  I used distress ink around the edges to create a vintage feel.  Love the card candi too which created a border around the sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I do love reading all your comments.

Shades of One at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Most of you know that I started a new job about three weeks ago.  The job was full time but on a 6 month temporary contract.  Yesterday my boss offered me a permanent contract.  Unexpected to happen so soon but very welcome.  At least I know that I will not have to start job hunting again in 6 months.  I certainly must have made an impression lol.

Today I am here to share some inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is:
Shades of One

Here is my inspiration project using an image from one of our sponsors Bugaboo Stamps.

I decided just to add some colour to the circular image by using distress ink.  The backing paper was in my scraps box and I used purple pearlescent card for the matting.  I lightly coloured the doily with some more distress ink.  The embellishments were all in my stash.

Thanks for popping by.  Just pop over to The Crafting Cafe for full challenge details.

Mid Month Inspiration for Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks

Just popping by today to share some inspiration for our current challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenges.  Our theme for this month is:
Anything Goes
Don't forget that if you use any Imagination Crafts products then you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.

The large star is an MDF charm from the MDF kit and this was coloured with promarkers and glittered.  I added a sentiment to the centre and some small stars from my stash.  I also attached some ribbon to hang it up.

Guest Designer at Little Claires

Hi Folks
Today I would like to share my inspiration project for Little Claires challenges.  I would just like to say Thank You to Little Claires for asking me to guest design for August and September.  I have really enjoyed using their stamps.  The theme for this month is:
Birthday
You can create anything you like as long as it fits the challenge theme.

I used a really great stamp called Cat In A Box which can be found here.

The image was stamped twice, once onto white card and once onto some coloured card.  I cut the squares out of the coloured card and decoupaged them onto the white card to create a checker board effect.  I matted this onto some black card and doodled around the edges.  The background paper was in my scraps box.  I added some black pearls to the corners, a ribbon bow and a ball of wool peel off to finish the card.

With the leftover coloured squares I made a little mini card.

Here are both cards together.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will pop over to Little Claires and have a go in their challenge.  There are some lovely inspiration projects from the design team to feast your eyes upon too.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Crafty Girls - Anything goes

Our sponsor joining us this week is Bugaboo Stamps with a prize of 7 digi images to the winner.

Happy Birthday Son

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  My sister, brother in law and nephews were down visiting this weekend.  Had a lovely time catching up but ate and drank far too much.  My new job is going well.  I am starting to feel more comfortable with the work and getting used to full time working again.   Still got to get myself organised on the crafting front though.  Don't seem to have had a lot of time the last couple of weeks to get in my crafty room very much.

Today I thought I would share a card that I was asked to make a few weeks ago.

The Happy Birthday is a stamp from Papermania.  I coloured it using promarkers and then added some stickles to the polka dots.  I also added some stickles around the square image for added sparkle.  The backing paper is from a K & Company paper pad that I have had for a couple of years.  I used a signature die for the star burst and used the stars that came out of the die cut as embellishments.  A sentiment finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I really do appreciate all your comments.

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  As I mentioned I started a new job on Monday.  So far I am getting on okay and seem to be fitting in.  The work I am doing is varied and I think I will enjoy it.  But I still need to get myself into a routine after two months of not working.  So apologies if I am not around as often commenting.  My time in the evenings is pretty limited now.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:

Anything Goes at Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  Today is my first day at my new job.  A bit nervous but I know it will be fine and looking forward to meeting everyone and getting started.  Will let you know later on in the week how things are going.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenges.  Our theme is:
Anything Goes
You are free to enter any project you like but if you do use Imagination Crafts goodies on your project you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.

Here is my inspiration project:

I used one of the MDF Frames and Charms kits to make a little picture for the wall.  I began by coating the frame with some purple acrylic paint.  I then used the crackle glaze and a final layer of cream acrylic paint.  This left a nice crackle effect as the base.  Soft purple sparkle medium was then used with the leaf flourish stencil.  I also coated the MDF butterfly with the soft purple sparkle medium.  While this was drying I used a sentiment from the Friendship stamp set and some die cuts to create the centre panel.  Some flowers and pearls from my stash completed the picture.

Imagination Crafts products used
MDF Frame and Charm kit
Acrylic paint
Crackle glaze
Leaf Flourish stencil
Soft purple sparkle medium
Friendship stamp set

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing your entries.  Just pop over to the Imagination Crafts Challenge blog for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspiration from my talented teamies.
