For A Special Friend

Hi Folks
Hope you are well.  Only one more day till the weekend thankfully.  This week seems to have flown by and not had much time for crafting and commenting.  Hopefully will be able to rectify that at the weekend.

My card share for today is a card that I made for a dear friend of ours.  It was her birthday yesterday so I can now blog the card I made for her.

I was hunting through my stash and found a Hunkydory Patchwork Forest card kit that came free with Creative Cardmaking a few months ago.  The toppers were so cute and our friend loves cute.  I created the card by using a BCE template called Octofun which I have had for a couple of years.  As you can see this is a triple easel card and was such fun to do.  I added some lovely gingham ribbon across the stopper.  For embellishments I added some bows, gems and little flowers.

Here is another view:

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.
Today sees a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Add Black and/or Bling

We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge, QKR Stampede and Sassy Studio.  All the challenge details can be found over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

For my inspiration project I used a cute image from QKR Stampede.

The image has been coloured in promarkers and cut out using one of my dies.  I added some distress ink and liquid pearls around the edge of the die cute.  The background paper is from my stash - I think it was a freebie many months ago.  I added some black ribbon and pink lace to the side and tied a bow using the lace.  Lots of pearls around the sentiment, a butterfly and a dazzler on the bow finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the other inspiration projects from the design team.

It's All About The Florals

Hi Folks
Sorry I have been off the radar for a few days but have had a busy weekend with no time for blogging.  Spent Saturday catching up on some jobs and doing a couple of DT projects.  Then on Saturday evening we went out for a meal to celebrate a friend's 65th birthday.
On Sunday we travelled to Birmingham with a couple of friends.  Did some shopping in the afternoon and in the evening we had tickets to see Queen Extravaganza at the O2 Academy.  Queen Extravaganza are a band from America that were put together by Roger Taylor and Brian May from the original Queen band.  They wanted to form a band that would enable new and old fans of Queen to celebrate the music in a rock spectacular show.  We were not disappointed.  The band were fabulous and the lead singer even looked a little like a young Freddie Mercury and sounded so like him.  Highly recommended.

Anyway, enough about my weekend and onto today's card share.  This is another card that my sister requested.

I used images and papers from The Kew Floral Collection CD from Kraftyhands for this card.  The stepper card template is also on the CD.  I added some glitter to the topper for added sparkle.  The butterflies, roses and pearls are all from my stash (roses and pearls from Hobby House).  This is such a lovely CD with lots of gorgeous images.  I can see it getting lots of use.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you all think.

Glitter and Sparkle

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Thankfully only one day left till the weekend and we get an extra hour in bed as the clocks go back (well, they do if you are in the UK lol).

I have not had a lot of time for crafting this week but had to get this one done as my daughters want it for the weekend.  They are going to Leeds to celebrate a friend's 21st birthday.
The only information I was given is that their friend really loves pink and sparkle.  I was going through my stash trying to get inspiration and came across an iris folding pattern that I have had for ages.  It was just perfect.  I will warn you that there is lots of sparkle.

I cut the template for the iris folding out of pink cardstock.  The papers I used for the iris folding are pearlescent so they have a lovely sheen to them.  All of the glittering around the edge was done by using double sided tape and glitter.  How messy did I get.  I think I will be finding glitter for weeks lol.  I also glittered the chipboard numbers.  A ribbon, bow and some sparkly gems finished the card.  I also added some stickles around the outline of the dress.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  I haven't done any iris folding for months but really enjoyed doing this.

Bring On The Choir

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and your week is going okay.

Today I wanted to share this christmas card that I made using a Pink Gem image for the Gems of Inspiration blog.  I have used one of the new October digi images called Funky Snowman and he can be found here.

I took the single digi image into my graphics programme and copied him so I had six images.  I then merged the images together to create a little choir of snowmen.  The whole image was then printed onto a square of white card.  I matted onto some blue cardstock after lightly inking the edges and adding some faux stitching. If you zoom into the image you can also see that I have added lots of glamour dust. I also stamped a few snowflakes in really light blue ink.  The sentiment is a rub on that I have had since last christmas.  For embellishments I added a couple of wooden trees that I added stickles too and some gems.

This was a really quick card to make and think it will suit my nephews perfectly for christmas.  Thanks for popping by.

Anything Goes at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Thank goodness it is the weekend.  It has been a busy week at work and I am looking forward to a crafty day today.  I have got a couple of orders to do, a few DT projects and lots more christmas cards.

I am here today to share a little inspiration for our October challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is a nice easy one:
Anything Goes

Our sponsor for this month is Stamping Dragon Designs and they were generous enough to provide the design team with some images to use.

Isn't this image just perfect for male cards.  I coloured the image with promarkers and matted onto kraft card.  The paper are from We R Memory Keepers and were a freebie in a crafting magazine many months ago.  I added some ribbon across the join of the two papers.  For embellishments I just added some metal corners and card candi.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for popping by and you still have until the end of the month to get your entries in.  We also have a DT call on at the moment so if you fancy joining a fun, friendly team just add DT after your name when uploading your entry.

A Gem of a Challenge goes Spooky

Hi Folks
Today we have a new challenge starting over at A Gem of a Challenge.  Our theme for this week is:
Spooky (Halloween etc).

The prize as always is

2 individual digi images
(NO SETS, PERSONALISED WATERMARKS OR SENTIMENT SETS)
of the winners choice from PINK GEM DESIGNS......

I decided to make a little treat basket after seeing a tutorial over at Mel's blog.  Mel has some wonderful projects on her blog.  You can find the tutorial for the basket here.  Thanks Mel for sharing.

For my basket I used Batty papers available here from Pink Gem and the Halloween Calendar stamp available here.  I found the basket really easy to make using Mel's clear instructions.  I am going to add some orange tissue paper to line the basket and then fill it with treats for a little chap we know.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to A Gem of a Challenge to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the fab design team creations.

Gotta Love A Poinsettia

Hi Folks
Hope you are well.  Only one more day to go and the weekend is here.  Been a busy week at work and got a couple of orders for cards stacked up so will be busy crafting come Saturday.

Some of you may have noticed that my blog has changed.  My previous blog design was a free blog template from Leelou blogs.  However, I discovered this morning that all the free blog templates will no longer be available from Saturday 19th October - yes, this Saturday.   In fact, all the free templates are going to be deleted.  So I decided I had to do something rather quickly.  I headed over to blogger and have just used one of their standard templates.  I know that several of you out there have free blog templates from Leelou so you can read all about the change here.

Anyway, now onto my card share for today.

I used the Papermania First Noel Poinsettia stamp for this card.  I stamped the image onto green and red cardstock and embossed with gold embossing powder.  Several images were stamped and embossed so I could cut them out and layer the image up.  For the card itself I kept it quite simple.  Used my dotty embossing folder to emboss some white card which was then matted onto green mirror board.  Added some green ribbon to the side of the embossed panel and topped with a punched out snowflake.  I added a sentiment and some gems to finish off.  I also distressed the edges of the white panel and the sentiment with distress ink.

I then went on and did another colourway.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Welcome and hope you are well on this happy Wednesday.  I love Wednesdays as it marks the halfway point of my working week - only another two days to the weekend.

Wednesday also sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is a nice easy one:
Anything Goes

We have three fab sponsors as well:
Stamping Dragon - prize of 5 digi images of the winners choice
Dr Digi - prize of 2 digi images of the winners choice
Digital Delights - prize of a $5gift voucher to the winner

The design team were lucky enough to be given some images to work with.  I chose this super image called Knitty Nora from Dr Digi for my card.

I coloured the image in using promarkers and mounted onto some red cardstock after lightly inking the edges.  If you look closely you can also see that I added some tiny pearls for her necklace. The papers are actually a christmas collection from Marianne Design called 'Let it Snow'.  But they seemed to fit perfectly with the image.  I actually bought these last year and this is the first time I have used them - naughty me.  The lace across the centre was a bit too white so I just coloured it with a bit of distress ink.  The tape measure ribbon was in my stash and fitted perfectly too.  For embellishments I just added some flowers, pins and a metal corner.  If you look closely you can also see a little scissor charm added to the tag sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the other fab inspiration projects from the talented design team.

Mid month inspiration at Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your week.  I can't say that I am enjoying getting up in the dark.  I really hate this time of year when I have to get up for work and it is still pitch black outside.  The weather is not being that kind to us either.  It has turned really cold in the last few days.  Anyway, enough of my moaning and groaning.

We are now halfway through October and time to share a little inspiration for our challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenge blog.  Our theme for October is:
Halloween
Don't forget you can join in with any halloween themed project but if you do use any Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 voucher to spend at their on line store.  How great is that?  Just check out the challenge blog for all the details.

I decided to make a couple of little treat bags.  For the purple background I took a piece of white card and used distress ink in various colours.  I also used the honeycomb stencil to add a bit of a pattern.  Distress ink was then used through a Halloween stencil to create the little picture.  The cat was also part of the stencil but I used sparkle medium on acetate and then cut him out when he was dry.  Some glittery lettering, ribbon and gems finished the bags.
Here is a closer look:

Christmas Sparkle

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend.  It's very wet and miserable here so I intend staying in, keeping dry and doing some crafting.  My hubby and daughters have all just left for work so I have a nice peaceful day ahead.

I wanted to share a christmas card today that I have made using a stencil and sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts.

This is a lovely stencil and this card was really quick to make.  The longest part of the process was waiting for the sparkle medium to dry.  I used two colours of medium - silver and red berries for the trees and wording.  Simply placed the stencil over black glossy card and applied the sparkle medium.  When it was dry I matted onto red and then silver cardstock.  A couple of bows added to the red trees and a gem in each corner finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and feel free to leave me a comment.  I do enjoy reading them all.  Have a great weekend, whatever you are doing.

I used this cute image called Teddy's Surprise Package from StampArt Designs for my project.  The image can be found here.

I created an easel card using one of my X-Cut dies.  I didn't use any patterned paper on this one, just red and green card to give a traditional christmas colour feel.  The image was coloured in promarkers and I added lots of pearls as embellishments and a couple of little polka dot bows.  I also went around the green layer added some stickle dots to the edges.  The sentiment and the special delivery tag were in my stash from last year.

Christmas Trees

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  Hubby is busy cooking Sunday roast so just thought I would pop by and post a quick share with you.

These cards are going to be one of my bulk makes for christmas.

I used a stamp from Hot Off The Press that I got as a freebie set in a magazine a couple of years ago.  I stamped it with versamark and then embossed with gold embossing powder.  The little pot it stands in was cut out of mirror card and a little gold bow added.  The edges of the image was coloured with a little tumbled glass distress ink and then mounted onto gold mirror card.  For the background I used my snowflake embossing folder and then lightly dusted with blue chalk.  This again was edged with tumbled glass distress ink and mounted onto gold mirror card.  I wrapped some organza ribbon round the edge and embellished
with a gold poinsettia, some pearls and a sentiment.

This is my second one that I did in a silver colourway.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you think.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Kraftyhands October Challenge

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  It looks like it's going to be a bit gloomy weather wise this weekend so definitely a bit of crafting is in order.  I have some DT work to do but really need to make a dent in my christmas card list.  Especially as my daughters are now putting their requests in for some cards.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Kraftyhands.  Our theme for this month is a colour challenge:
Use Halloween colours (orange, green, purple, black)
It doesn't have to be a Halloween card just use some or all of the above colours.

You can enter with any project you like and use any products you like.  All entries are eligible to be picked as our Top 3.

Here is my inspiration project using the Motor Mania toppers and CD Rom available from Kraftyhands.

I mounted the topper onto black card.  The papers are from the CD Rom and were also mounted onto black card.  The sentiment is from the topper set and for embellishments I added some black gems and peals and an Eazy Bow (also from Kraftyhands).

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing your entries.  Just pop over to the Kraftyhands challenge blog to upload your entry.  Don't forget to check out the fab creations from the design team too.

Today sees the start of a new monthly challenge over at Lothian Crafts Online.  Our theme for this month is:
Use the provided sketch layout
The prize for the winner is a fabulous die.

Here is my inspiration project

Here is the sketch layout for the challenge.

I used one of my favourite colour combos for this one, pink and kraft.  The backing paper is from Tim Holtz and although you cant see it very well I did add some glitter to each corner before using my corner punch to round the edges.  I have had this Tim Holtz paper pad for about 12 months.  This was then matted onto kraft card.  The image is a topper that was in my stash and this was matted onto some more of the Tim Holtz paper and then kraft card.  I die cut a Marianne Creatable birdcage and distressed with some acrylic paint and frantage.  My other embellishments are some Marianne die cut butterflies and some flowers from The Hobby House.  The sentiment is from Papermania.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Lothian Crafts Online to upload your entry.

Here is my inspiration project using a fab halloween stencil and sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts.

For the main central image I distressed some white card using various orange and yellow shades of distress ink.  I then used the stencil and sparkle medium to create the little scene.  The letters for the word Spooky were die cut and I also added a little 3d bat in the top corner.  The panel was then mounted onto black card.  For the main background I again did some distressing and used the stencil to ink some bats randomly over the background.  I added some metal fancy corners and then some dots of stickles all over.
