Who's for Football?

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Well, got Monday out of the way, only another four days till the weekend lol.

I have another male card to share with you today.  This was made for my Sister to give my nephew (her son) for his birthday.  He is football mad and plays for his local team as well as being a fanatical supporter of Everton.

This was quite an easy card to put together.  All of the images were in my stash and I just matted them onto a piece of green card.  The football boots and ball backing paper has been in my stash for a good couple of years.  The sentiment in the centre is from LOTV and I die cut the letters for the words Kick, Goal and Score.

Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I enjoy reading each and every one.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
The Squirrel and The Fox - Happy Birthday

Craft Nouveau Samples

Hi Folks
Hope you are all having a good week.  Only another day to go till the weekend, yippee.  My youngest daughter has finally managed to find herself a job.  It's only part time and not really what she wants to do but it's a start.  She has been getting so frustrated with her job search and hates being at home all the time.  At least she will be earning some money while looking for a full time job.

Anyway, just thought I would pop by and share anotherof my samples for the Craft Nouveau CD launch from Kraftyhands.  The CD launches on Tuesday 1st October on Create and Craft with shows at 11.00am and 1.00pm.  You can preorder the CD from Kraftyhands.

The backing paper and image are from the CD and I just added my own flowers, ribbon and gems.  There are some gorgeous images and papers on the CD.  The only difficulty you will have is what to start with first.

Thanks for popping by and hope you can tune into the shows on Tuesday.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Half way through the week so it's all downhill now till the weekend.

As it's Wednesday it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme this week is:
A Waterfall or Easel card

We have two fab sponsors for this challenge:
Limited Runs Digis and

I decided to go with the option of a waterfall card as I have only ever done one and wasn't too successful.  So I thought I would have another go.  I used the cute little deer image from Limited Runs.

Now, I already had a die cut waterfall mechanism in my stash (got it months ago but can't remember from where).  I used promarkers for the colouring of the image and added some stickles around the squares and also on the image panels to give the impression of snow.  The backing paper is from Papermania and I added some gems to each corner.  On the pull part of the waterfall I have added some ribbon and a little charm.

As you can see I tried to give the impression of the deer walking across the panels.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Why not have a go at a waterfall card.  It's not as difficult as you might think and there are lots of tutorials out there.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says - Anything goes
One Crazy Stamper - Christmas
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything goes
Creative Card Crew - Christmas
Patties Creations - Animals
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes

70th Birthday

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and having a good weekend.  Looks like we might be in for a good day here, the sun is shining already.  Might even get something done in the garden, unless I get a better offer lol.

Today's card is one I was asked to make for a gentleman who was going to be 70.  Here is what I came up with.

The main image is a stencil that I purchased at Ally Pally earlier in the year.  I used my Imagination Crafts sparkle medium through it.  Now a little tip for you, I was going to use just silver sparkle medium but felt it was a bit too bright for this image so I just mixed a little bit of silver with some antique bronze.  Voila, just perfect.  The background paper is from Papermania (chronology collection).  I added some black ribbon down the side and for embellishments used a clock charm and some cogs.  The lettering and numbers are some die cuts that I have had for about two years but seemed to fit perfectly on this card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you think.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Unstampabelles - Scraps and/or old stash (all old stash)

Altered Art and a DT call at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your week.  I am super busy at the moment both at work and at home so apologies if I have not been round blogland.  Hopefully I will be able to rectify this at the weekend.

Today is my turn to post some inspiration for our current monthly challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is
Altered Art

Our fab sponsor is Delicious Doodles and the prize is 4 digi images of the winners choice.  We are also having a DT call at the moment.  So if you want to join a fab, friendly team just create something for this challenge and add DT after your name when you upload your creation.  For full details just pop by The Crafting Cafe blog.

Now I do apologise as this post is rather photo heavy.  Here is a photo of my finished project.

Now this started life as an empty chocolate box.

For the box lid I used a super image Pansy and Butterfly frame from Delicious Doodles as the main centrepiece.  I coloured it with promarkers and cut it out before mounting onto some Tim Holtz papers that I have had for ages.  I did some extra flowers and a butterfly to decoupage and add some dimension.  The edging is some lovely blue ribbon that was in my stash.  I added some metal corners and some gems around the frame.

For the inside I covered up all the little gaps in the sides with some card and got out my decopatch tissue papers and glue.  This is so easy to do.  You just spread the glue liberally, tear your decopatch papers into bits and stick it on.  After you have glued on all the paper go over it with another coat of glue and leave to dry.  Here is how it turned out after adding some foiled parchment to the bottom.

I just love the colours.  I also covered the outer sides of the box with the Tim Holtz papers and added some of the blue ribbon and some lace.

Now I was intending keeping this and using it at a later date as a gift box for someone.  As you can see I could not bear to part with it so added some lettering and it now houses my collection of pins.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations in our challenge at The Crafting Cafe.  Would love for you to enter the DT call too.

Flower Power Rosie

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  I have noticed that it is dark when I get out of bed for work now.  A definite sign that summer is on it's way out lol.

A little while ago I was asked to be a guest designer  over at Digital Delights after entering a challenge at Delightful Challenges.  Thanks for the invite.  Now the hardest part of doing this project was choosing what image to use.  There are so many to choose from.  I eventually settled on this little image called Flower Power Rosie.

I used a Martha Steward PATG punch to create my card blank,  The topper was also created using the same punch.  The little cute image has been coloured in promarkers with some liquid pearls added around the image.  I also added some glitter to the rose in her hat.  The gingham backing paper was from my stash and I added a die cut flourish, some flowers and little butterflies.  I love the little daisy ribbon so added this along the button on top of some lush pink ribbon.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Boys Will Be Boys

Hi Folks
Sorry I haven't been around for the last few days but been busy, busy, busy.  It was our 27th wedding anniversary on Friday.  We had a lovely chinese takeaway on Friday evening with the girls and hubby surprised me with a crafty present.  He bought me an EBosser.  He had heard me saying that I wanted to save up for one so he went and bought one for me.  I just love it and it will certainly be getting lots of use.

Then at the weekend we went to stay with my sister and her hubby.  Our daughters came with us and my mum so we had a nice family weekend.  It was so nice seeing my nephews and spending some time with family.  The next time we shall all get together is Christmas.

So no time for blogging let alone crafting over the last few days.  Will be spending a few evenings in my crafty room this week as got some orders to get done.

Anyway, my card share tonight is a card that I did for one of my nephews birthday.

The topper is from the Hobby House and was just perfect for this card.  I used black card as the contrast and the papers were from my stash of freebie papers that I have acquired from magazines.  I added some red and black ribbon across the card.  The sentiment is a peel off.  Some card candi finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.

Mid Way Post for Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Hopefully blogger has played nicely and published this post for me.  We are away for the weekend visiting relatives and won't be back until later on today.

We have a lovely challenge going on at Imagination Crafts Challenges at the moment.  Our theme is a nice easy one
Butterflies

Just upload a creation containing a butterfly/butterflies.  Don't forget that if you use Imagination Crafts products you could win a £40 voucher to spend at Imagination Crafts.

Here is my mid way inspiration project.

As you can see I decided to alter a box that I had.  My daughter received some toiletries in this lovely shaped acetate box at Christmas.  I managed to retrieve the box from the bin as I thought it would come in handy one day.  That day has now arrived lol.

For the box
I used the butterfly flourish stencil and sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts to stencil the acetate panels on the box.  I only did three of the panels.  The remaining panels I covered with some backing paper on the inside.  The final thing that I did on the main box itself was to add some orange ribbon around the bottom.

For the lid
Now the top of the box was a lovely purple colour but I wanted it orange so I just stippled it with some acrylic paint.  When that was dry I cut a piece of backing paper and stuck this to the top of the lid.  I then used the stencil again with distress ink.  Some pearl bling was added to the outside together with some sparkle detail on the butterflies bodies.  The same orange ribbon was placed around the box lid and I added a little dragonfly on acetate that had been done with sparkle medium.

Thanks for popping by.  To see more gorgeous creations and to enter the challenge just pop over to the Imagination Crafts Challenge blog.  Looking forward to seeing all your butterfly creations.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Guest Designer at Fussy and Fancy Friday

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Looking forward to the weekend as we are going to my Sister's later for the weekend.  My daughters are also going with us so it will be nice to spend some family time and to see my two nephews.  We won't be back until Sunday so I apologise in advance as I won't be able to visit your lovely blogs until I get back.

A little while ago I was invited to be a guest designer over at Fussy and Fancy Friday challenges.  Thank you so much to them for asking me and here is a card I created for their current challenge theme which is:
Sports

I went with a football theme and decided to go monochrome.  The image is a Papermania stamp that I have had for ages.  So handy for any male themed cards and football fans.  I didn't do any colouring of the image and simply mounted it onto black card after inking around the edge with black soot distress ink.  The papers are from my ever increasing scraps box.  Again, mounted onto black card and inked around the edges.  For embellishments I added some netting over the background papers, some card candi and some little shoe buttons that I had.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will pop over to Fussy and Fancy Friday challenges and enter the challenge.

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is one that everyone loves:
Anything Goes
Just let your creativity go wild

We have two fab sponsors again this week
Robyns Fetish - prize of 4 digi images of the winners choice
Delicious Doodles - prize of 4 digi images of the winners choice

I used this lovely image from Delicious Doodles for my inspiration piece.

The image was simply coloured using promarkers.  I used my corner punch to round the corners and added some liquid pearls.  For the background my sizziz hexagon die came out again to create this patchwork background.  I added faux stitching around each hexagon for interest. Again I rounded the corners with my corner punch before mounting onto light green coredinations.  For embellishments I added a ribbon and bow, some buttons and some swirly pearls.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to upload your entry.  You can also find more wonderful inspiration there from the talented design team.

70th Birthday and some exciting news

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  The weather has turned a bit colder and wetter here today.  Still, it did make for a better night's sleep for me last night.  I sometimes think I have a little cooker inside me as I rarely feel cold.

Now before I tell you about my card for today I have a bit of exciting news to share with you all.  A few weeks ago Mike and Ian from Kraftyhands put out a design team call.  I tentatively applied and sent some photos of my creations not really expecting to hear anything.  Well on Friday I got an email from them inviting me to join the team.  You can imagine it took me all of a few seconds to reply back to them with my acceptance.  I am so delighted to have been asked and I look forward to sharing their fab products with you all.  Here is a link to their website and also to their blog.

Now for todays card which is a 70th birthday card that I was asked to make.

I wanted something quite clean and uncluttered as it is for a male.  I started by cutting two central squares using a Martha Stewart Punch around the page punch that I have.  Onto this I mounted the number 70 which I glittered for some sparkle.  The sentiment is from a stamp set that I have had for ages.  Now I can't tell you where I got the blue background paper from as it has been in my stash for months.  This was simply matted onto black and a khaki coloured coredinations card.  The corner cutouts that were left from punching the central squares made nice corner embellishments.

Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave me.  I do read every one and it is much appreciated.  Off to my monthly card workshop tonight so apologies if I don't get round to visit many of you.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Blue Christmas

Hi Folks
Hope you are all having a good weekend.  As our daughters are away on holiday at the moment hubby and I are having a quiet day today.  We normally cook a lovely Sunday roast for everyone but today we are having a day off and going out for lunch.  I might even sneak some crafty time in this afternoon while hubby is napping lol.

It has been a pretty exciting time this week in crafting terms.  I have won a couple of challenges and been invited to join the Crafting Musketeers design team.  The Crafting Musketeers run a monthly challenge and my first challenge with them with be on the 2nd October so look out for that.  I also have some more exciting news but can't share that at the moment, just watch this space.

Today's card share is a little christmas card made with my new punch around the page punch from Martha Stewart.  I had some gift vouchers from Amazon that I hadn't spent so decided to treat myself to a couple of Martha Stewart punches.  The one I have used on this card is called Cherish.

Just love the shape from this punch and I can see me using this a lot.  After punching the base out I used some Tumbled Glass distress ink around the edges and added a few pearls for interest.  The topper is from The Hobby House and is so cute.  I did ink lightly around the edges and mounted onto some blue card.  The background paper is from my stash and was a loose sheet and really can't remember where I got it.  Added some blue organza ribbon and a bow.  The bow was topped with a dazzler also from Hobby House.  The sentiment and little snowflakes were in my stash.

Did you notice the little watermark in the bottom corner of the card.  I have finally mastered adding a watermark to my creations using a free photo editor called Pic Monkey.  It is so easy to use and you can create your own watermark or add a custom one.  I am not really sure I like the one I have done myself so might have to treat myself to a custom made one lol.

Thanks for popping by and look forward to hearing what you think of my little creation.  I do enjoy reading all your comments and really appreciate them.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

It's All About Doilies and Pins

Morning Folks
Well, the weekend is finally here and the sun is shining. Let's hope it lasts for a little while.  Spent all week shut in an office so looking forward to spending a bit of time in the sun this weekend.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.  I have chosen the theme this week and I have gone for something that I enjoy using on my cards but don't always manage it.
Use a doily and a pin

The prize as always is

2 individual digi images
(NO SETS, PERSONALISED WATERMARKS OR SENTIMENT SETS)
of the winners choice from PINK GEM DESIGNS.....

I used this cute image called Love Birds which is available here.  I used the precoloured version and decided to make a card for my hubby for our wedding anniversary which is on Friday.  I die cut the image and inked around the edges with some Tattered Rose distress ink.  For my doily element I used two square doilies that I had (love the square doilies). A square of patterned paper was added to the centre of the doilies and these were mounted in opposite corners of the card before adding some ribbon across the centre.  The corner dies are from Memory Box and the felt hearts were in my stash.  I did add some little heart buttons to the top of the felt hearts.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to A Gem of a Challenge to upload your entries.  You can also check out the rest of the design team's fabulous creations.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Use Spooled Items
So we are looking for ribbon, lace, twine etc.

We have two fab sponsors for this challenge.
Bugaboo Stamps - prize of 7 digi images of the winners choice
Digi My World - prize of a $10 voucher

The design team were generously given some images to work with from our sponsors and I chose this cute little beagle image from Digi My World.

I coloured the image with promarkers and mounted him into the centre of my spellbinder lacy doily die.  The papers are from Wild Rose Studio - Milton & Co paper pack.  All the matting has been done onto coredinations cardstock.  I did add some doodle faux stitching round the edges of the paper panels.  I added some ribbon across the centre and on three of the corners I added some daisy ribbon.  The daisy ribbon was a bit white so I just coloured it slightly with a bit of distress ink.  A crotchet flower and some little gold gems finished the card off nicely.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges to upload your entry.  While you are there check out the inspiration projects from the design team.  They are stunning as always.

P P P Pick Up A Penguin

Hi Folks
Well the week is slowly dribbling by.  Get tomorrow over with and then it's only two more days till the weekend.  We are still enjoying lovely weather at the moment but thankfully there is air conditioning in the office I work in.  Not sure I would survive without it lol.

Now tonight's card share features one of my most favourite animals (apart from my cats), the penguin.  I could watch them for hours and on trips to the zoo in the past I have done just that.  Of course one of my favourite films is Happy Feet.  Such a cutie.  Anyway, for my card tonight I used a cute Penguin set available here from Pink Gem Designs.

I decided that I needed to do some clean and simple cards for Christmas.  Believe me, it was so hard not to keep adding stuff lol.  I printed the image onto a square piece of white card and coloured it with promarkers adding a little glamourdust to his hat. This was then matted onto red coredinations cardstock after inking around the edges with a little fired brick distress ink.  I also added some faux stitching.  For embellishments I just added a sentiment and some gems.

I enjoyed making this card so much that I decided to use the other images in the set to make two more in different colours.

Here are all three of them together.

I will certainly be making some more of these as I do need rather a lot of christmas cards.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.
I have also noticed that I have passed the 300 mark for followers.  Thank you so much.  I really appreciate it and am glad that so many of you want to follow me.  Look out for some candy coming soon as it is also my 2nd Blogaversary too.
