Christmas in July

Evening Folks
A bit of a late post for me but been busy today.  Spent some time in my crafty room working on a wedding table plan and post box that I have been asked to do.  The wedding is in a couple of weeks so will post some piccies after the event.

Finally found some time to create a card just for fun and not for a DT.  I decided to have a play with some Imagination Crafts products that I recently ordered.

I used a stencil called Hanging Bauble and applied Sparkle Medium through it in gold and red berries.  Just love the sparkle medium.  Once dried I matted onto red mirror card and black card.  For embellishments I simply added a bow, poinsettia flower and gems to each corner.  The sentiment is a glittery peel off that I bought last christmas.  Really like the way it came out and will certainly be making a few more of these for my christmas cards.

Here is another shot which hopefully shows more of the sparkle.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will pop by again soon.

How Charming at A Gem of a Challenge

Morning Folks
Hope you are all well and looking forward to enjoying your weekend.  Not too sure what the weather is going to do as heavy rain is predicted in some areas of the UK.  I am planning on doing a bit of crafting today followed by a trip to the pub this evening with some friends to see a band.  But really got to get in the garden tomorrow.  We are planning some changes to our garden so got to get out and do some clearing. Can't say I am looking forward to the work but looking forward to the end result.

Anyway, enough waffling and onto my reason for being here this morning.
It's time for a new challenge over at A Gem of A Challenge and this time our lovely Debbie has chosen the theme of

How Charming
Simply add a charm to your project.

The prize as usual is:
2 individual digi images
(no sets, pesonalised watermarks or sentiment sets)
of the winners choice from Pink Gem Designs

I used a super cute image called Baby Girl Sleeping.  The image is coloured with promarkers and I did a bit of paper piecing and added some glamour dust to the hearts and stars.  The papers are from Papermania and have been matted onto Pink Coredinations card stock.  Although you can's see it very well I did add 3 different widths of ribbon across the centre and some lace to the smaller square panel.  For embellishments I added a crotchet flower, feathers, card candi, a bow, glittery button to the bow and a sentiment.  For my charm I had a lovely little pram which I added to the bow.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  For more inspiration check out my teamies creations over at A Gem of A Challenge.

Hi Folks
Hope you are all having a good week.  Roll on Friday is all I can say.

Bling It On

We have two great sponsors for this challenge:
Sassy Studio - prize of 4 digi images to the winner
Lacy Sunshine - prize of $20 gift certificate to the winner

I used an image from Lacy Sunshine for my inspiration project.
I made a graduation card which was given to my daughter for her graduation last week.  The image was coloured with promarkers and then cut out using one of my dies.  The papers were freebies from a magazine.  The little rosette is from Papermania and I added a couple of pins.  To add more sparkle and bling I went around the edge of the die with various colours of stickles and added some glitter stickles to the corners.  A bow and a couple of sentiments finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing your entries.  Pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full details and to see the lovely inspiration from the design team.

Vintage Birthday

Evening Folks
I am sitting here slowly melting while writing this post.  We might have had thunderstorms last night but the hot sticky conditions remain.  I was hopeful that it might have freshened the air a bit to at least enable me to sleep but I was wrong.  Still, I am not going to complain as we don't see enough nice weather in the UK.  My apologies if I have not been round to visit all your blogs over the last couple of days.  All I want to do in the evenings at the moment is to keep cool and sitting with a laptop on your knee is not exactly cooling lol.  I have also been busy with a wedding order for three weeks time.  I can't show you what I have been working on at the moment but will do as soon as the wedding is over.

It has been a very exciting couple of days with the birth of William and Kate's baby boy.  What a precious little bundle and congratulations to them both.  I was sat in front of the television this evening for my first glimpse of the little man.  I just hope that they are given a bit of privacy now to get used to being parents and getting to know their little boy.

I have a male birthday card to share with you tonight.

I used a topper from Kanban together with papers from Craftwork Cards for this creation.  I mounted everything onto kraft card to keep the monochromatic feel.  For embellishments I used a couple of metal corners and some card candy.  I also used some distress ink around the edges of the topper and the papers.  This was a quick card to put together but just perfect for a male birthday.

Thanks for popping by and will see you tomorrow for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Summer at Hobbycutz Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all having a good weekend.  I have been busy doing a wedding order this weekend and this afternoon I am going to a crafting party organised by the bride.  We are going to be making her table decorations and a few other bits for the big day in a couple of weeks.  So a very crafty weekend for me.

Today also sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz Challenges.  Our theme for the next fortnight is:
Summer

I used an image from our sponsor Digi Stamps 4 Joy to create a lovely summery card.

The image is called Freckle Faced Sitting Fairy and she is so cute.  I coloured her using my promarkers and added lots of glamour dust and liquid pearls.  The papers were in a freebie paper pack in a magazine from many months ago.  I added a Hobbycutz border piece across the centre which i glittered and a gorgeous little butterfly.  All the laser cuts can be found over at the Hobbycutz store.  The finishing touches were some flowers, pearls and the little ladybird in the corner.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  For more inspiration just pop over to Hobbycutz Challenges to see what the rest of the design team have been up to.

A Proud Day

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  Been a bit cloudy and dull here today but not a bad thing as I have been hiding in my craft room getting on with a wedding order.

My card for today is one I did for my sister to give to her hubby for his birthday on Friday.

I started off by embossing a piece of mirror card with a metal effect stencil from That Special Touch.  This was then mounted onto some red card.  I cut a heart shape out of red glitter card and added a silver heart embellishment that I had in my stash.  The sentiment was stamped and mounted onto red card and  I added some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons that had the perfect wording on it.  A couple of roses and a happy birthday sentiment from Craftwork Cards finished the card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers - Birthday
Here Come The Boys - Anything goes
The Squirrel and The Fox - Use something spooled (ribbon)
Kaboodle Doodles - Embossed
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes birthday option

The Paper Shelter - Clean and simple
Addicted to Stamps and More - CAS
Crafty Ribbons - CAS and ribbon
A Creative Romance - No designer papers

Now I promised you some pictures from my daughters graduation so here you go.

My beautiful and talented daughter.

 Proud parents and sister.

My mother-in-law and my mum with their granddaughter.

My two lovely daughters, the best of friends.
It was a truly special day and the weather was glorious.
Thanks for popping by and hope to see you again soon.

Summer's Here at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
It seems that Summer has finally arrived in my part of the UK.  Been scorching temperatures this week and it looks set to continue for a little while yet.  Bit too hot for working but luckily my office is air conditioned.  We have been to Manchester for the last couple of days for our daughter's graduation.  Hopefully I will get round to posting some pictures for you later and catch up with some commenting.

In the meantime my card share for today is a little inspiration for our current challenge at The Crafting Cafe.  Our theme for this month is:
Summer's Here

Our sponsor is the wonderful LEJ Designs and I used a super little image called Beachy Fun for my card.

I created a little beach scene by using some sand coloured glitter paper together with some paper that had little beach huts on it.  For the palm trees I found some random paper in my freebies box that had lots of palm trees on it.  They were actually printed in pink so I cut a couple out and coloured them using my distress ink so they looked more realistic.  The strips with the word summer were from another piece of patterned paper.  I coloured the image in promarkers and cut around it before mounting onto the little scene.
Thanks for popping by and hope that you will join us at The Crafting Cafe for our Summer's Here challenge.  You have until the end of the month so plenty of time to enter.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Let's Go Black at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
This is a scheduled post as when the challenge goes live my daughter will be in the middle of getting her gown on ready to graduate.  A very exciting day and proud moment for us all.  Promise to post some piccies when we get home tomorrow.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this challenge is:
Use the colour black somewhere on your creation

We have three fab sponsors for this challenge:
StampArt Design - prize of 5 digi images to the winner
Delicious Doodles - prize of 4 digi images to the winner
Di's Digi Downloads - prize tba

I chose this gorgeous image from StampArt Design called Christmas Candle.  The image can be found here.

I used one of my stepper card blanks for this card.  The paper is from Papermania and just love the black and white.  The image was cut out using one of my dies and mounted onto the centre panel.  I used spellbinders poinsettia dies to cut the flowers using mirror card.  Really nice and shiny.  I also used an ivy corner die that I have for behind the flowers.  A little bow and a couple of gems finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  For more fab inspiration just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

Mid Way Inspiration at Imagination Crafts

Morning Folks
Well, it's a lovely sunny morning here so have a feeling it is going to be a hot day at work today.  But only got to see through today and then got three days off.  We are going to Manchester tomorrow ready for our daughter's graduation from university on Wednesday.  I won't have any internet access while I am away so will catch up with you all when we return on Thursday.

Just popping by today with a little reminder about our first challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenge blog.  The challenge is open until the end of the month and our theme is
Anything Goes

You can enter any type of project you like for the challenge.  There is a super prize of a £40 gift voucher to Imagination Crafts for our chosen winner.  But to be eligible for the gift voucher you must use at least one Imagination Crafts product in your creation.  What a super prize.  A great incentive to get out those Imagination Crafts products and get creating.

How I created my card:
1.  Sponge through the honeycomb stencil onto yellow card using distress ink to create the background.
2.  Use sparkle medium with the honeycomb stencil onto acetate.  When dry cut out little parts of the honeycomb pattern and stick to the background.
3.  Mount onto black card and add some ribbon to the side.
4.  Stamp the daisy decoupage stamp twice onto white card.  Colour the daisy image with promarkers and decoupage together.  Glitter the centre of the daisy and add the image to the card.

The daisy decoupage stamp, honeycomb stencil and sparkle medium can all be purchased at Imagination Crafts.

Here is another couple of views and close ups.

The design team have been hard at work creating some awesome projects for your inspiration.  Just pop by the Imagination Crafts Challenge blog and take a look.

You have until the end of the month to enter the challenge. Look forward to seeing you there.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

What Song? at Crafty Friends

Morning Everyone
Well, it looks like we are set for a fabulous weekend weather wise here in the UK.  I have some DT cards to do but off to a barbecue party tonight so all is good.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Crafty Friends and our theme for this challenge is:
Inspired by a song

You can enter any project you like but don't forget to tell us what song has inspired you.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Melonheadz and the winner will receive a digi bundle of their choice.

I have used this cute Snowman image from our sponsor and my song title is 'Frosty The Snowman'.  I know, very original lol.  I kept the card quite clean and simple.  I embossed some white card with swiss dots and mounted onto some red card.  The image was coloured in promarkers and fussy cut out.  Added some thin ribbon and some glittery snowflakes from my stash to finish the card.  I am trying to come up with a design that could be mass produced in readiness for my christmas cards.  This would certainly fill that brief.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  For more inspiration just pop over to Crafty Friends challenge blog.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Skating By

Hi Folks
The glorious weather has continued today with wall to wall sunshine.  I just hope it carries on into next week as it is my daughters graduation next week.  We will be travelling up to Manchester on Tuesday and staying until Thursday.  The graduation ceremony is on the Wednesday and we are really looking forward to it.  We have booked to go to a lovely Mexican restaurant in the evening for a celebratory meal.  My sister and her husband are coming over and both grandmothers are coming with us so a real celebration.  I am such a soppy devil I will probably cry but they will be tears of joy.

Anyway, it is my brother in laws birthday next week and this is a card I have made for my nephew to give to him.

The image is Skateboard Andy and can be found here at Pink Gem Designs.  This is the precoloured image and I just fussy cut it out.  For the background to mount it on I used a mica mask stencil (crackle) on black card.  I used versamark and mica powders to stencil through the mask.  I then distressed the edges and mounted onto some more black card.  The checkered paper was in my stash box and I must have had it for at least two years (shame on me lol).  I added some black card and ribbon across the centre.  The sentiment was done on the computer and I distressed the edges with some acrylic paint and more mica powders.  The final addition was the card candy.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Hopefully I will get chance to do a bit of hopping around blogland later.  Time has been slipping away from me.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Think Pink

Hi Folks
Well, it's back to work today after having a couple of days off.  It has been nice having a couple of extra days at home to catch up on a few jobs.  I could quite easily get used to working only 3 days a week.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is
Think Pink

We have two sponsors for this challenge:
Lily of the Valley - prize of a £10 gift voucher to the winner
Digi My World - prize of a $10 voucher to the winner

I used an image from Lily of the Valley for my inspiration project.  This is actually a precoloured topper from one of their pads.  These pads are brilliant as it means you always have a lovely image to work with even if you haven't got the time to colour.  I cut the image out with one of my dies and I did add some sparkly stickles around the edge of the die cut - although it is not very clear in the photo.  The papers were freebies in a magazine.  For embellishments I simply added a ribbon, some flowers with pearls and a sentiment.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  For more inspiration and to enter the challenge just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Hobbycutz DT Call

Hi Folks
Hope you are all having a good week.  Really enjoying the sunshine at the moment.

Just wanted to pop by to let you know about the DT call happening over at Hobbycutz Challenges.  Kobie is looking to recruit 10 new members to the team.  I am currently on the team and have a fab time working with sponsor images and of course the super Hobbycutz products.  You would need to produce a project every two weeks and comment on entries to the challenges (you would be allocated a number to comment on).
So if this sounds something you would be interested in then head over to Hobbycutz for full details and to enter the call.  No previous experience required just enthusiasm and a definite must is to have FUN.

See you tomorrow for the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.

Hobbycutz Challenges - Fantasy

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.  Such glorious weather at the moment in the UK.  We went to my brother-in-laws last night for a barbecue.  Great fun and it was so nice to still be sat out in the garden at 10.00pm.  May this good weather last for a little while.

It's time for a new challenge to start over at Hobbycutz Challenges and our theme for this fortnight is
Fantasy

I used an image from our sponsor Sassy Studio for my inspiration project.

The image was coloured in promarkers and then cut out.  The backing paper was from my scraps box and it was used in conjunction with pale pink coredinations card.  I used a Hobbycutz flourish which I added some stickles too and I think it looks a little like she is standing an a stage (I do have a good imagination).  The corners are a Memory Box die and I had some peel off stickers which I used for the little crystal balls in the bottom corners.  Some ribbon across the centre,  some spiritual words and some gems finished the card.

For more inspiration and for full challenge details please pop over to Hobbycutz Challenges.  The design team have produced some fabulous creations.  Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.

Spots and Stripes at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are well and having a good week.  We are very proud parents at the moment as our youngest daughter got her university degree results.  She passed with flying colours and got a 2:1.  She was only a few marks from getting a First but she is delighted.  Four years of hard work has paid off.  Now we can look forward to her graduation ceremony in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, as it's Wednesday, it's time for a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Spots and Stripes

We have two great sponsors for this challenge:
Bugaboo - prize of 7 digi images of the winners choice
Stitchy Bear Stamps - prize of 3 digi images of the winners choice

For my inspiration project I used an image from Bugaboo.  I coloured the image with promarkers and cut it out using one of my dies.  I then decided to make a gatefold Barbecue Invitation.  The paper was from my stash box (magazine freebie I think).  I added some ribbon across the centre to tie the invite up before sending.  The flower is a material one and is from Papermania.

I left the inside blank at the moment as not sure when we are going to get decent enough weather to have a barbecue lol.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all you creations.  Just pop over to Penny's to see more fabulous inspiration from the design team.

Imagination Crafts First Challenge

Hi Folks
Yippee!!!  It is an exciting day today as it sees the start of Imagination Crafts first challenge.  I was delighted to be chosen for the design team and hope you will join in with our challenges.  Challenges will run on a monthly basis and the design team will pop up again on the 15th of the month with some more inspiration for you.

Our first challenge is a nice easy one for you
Anything goes

Here is my inspiration project using various products that can be found at Imagination Crafts.  The background was created by using distress ink to colour some white card.  I then added a light layer of sparkle gel and when it was dry I embossed it with a diamond stencil.
For the flowers I used a stencil called Summer Blossom and sparkle medium.  I created some flowers on both white card and acetate using Sparkle Medium and cut them out when they were dry.  I then arranged these with some die cut leaves to create a little arrangement in the corner.  The sentiment is also a stamp from Imagination Crafts and was cut out using a spellbinders die.  Some little punched butterflies finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and don't forget to pop over to Imagination Crafts Challenge Blog.  The design team have produced some wonderful creations for your inspiration.  You can upload your entry there and find full details of the challenge rules.  All we ask is that you use some Imagination Crafts products on your entry.
