Have a beautiful day

Hope you are all well.  A quick early morning post from me today.  I am off to work shortly (boo hoo) and just had time to post this before I go.

This was a really quick and simple card that I put together last night.  The topper is from one of the die cut topper sheets from Hobby House.  I matted onto a die cut circle.  The papers are from a First Edition paper pad.  For embellishments I just added some card candi and some gorgeous flowers that I received in some blog candy from Lindsay.  Hope you like.

Silver Wedding

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.  I have had this week off work.  We were away last weekend and got back on Monday.  I have managed to get a bit of crafty time in but other things keep getting in the way.  On the plus side the weather has been better this week. If it keeps up over the weekend then some gardening will have to be done.  Lots of tidying up to do from winter and the weeds are now starting to come through.

The card I am sharing today is one I did for my daughter to give her friend's parents for their silver wedding.

The stamp I have used is a Penny Johnson one from Stampavie.  I just love it and have inked it up several times.  I decided to keep with the monochrome feel and not add any colour to the image.  The background is some foiled acetate.  I kept the embellishments fairly simple: ribbon, feathers, pins and a pearl heart.

I am pleased to say that my daughter's friend's parents loved the card.
Thanks for popping by and see you again soon.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Visible Image - Get stamping
Stamping Sensations - Special Occasions
Crafty Sentiments - Monochromatic

Anything Goes at Penny's

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme is a nice easy one which you all love.
Anything Goes

Here is the card I created as my inspiration project.

I used a fab image from one of our sponsors, QKR Stampede.  He is so cute and I decided to try and go a bit vintage.  The image is coloured with promarkers and cut out using one of my dies.  I then used distress ink around the edges.  All of the card and papers were from my scraps box including the pearlescent paper that I used to paper fold the tie at the side.  Added some ribbon, a button and a sentiment from my stash.  As I have a few Father's Day cards to make this year I thought I would make this my first one.

We have three sponsors for this challenge.
Sassy Studio - prize 4 digi images
QKR Stampede - prize 5 digi images

Sparkle and shine

Well, I am back from my weekend away at the Queen convention.  I actually got back on Monday afternoon but still feel quite tired.  It was a fantastic weekend and the tribute bands that performed were excellent.  Our daughters came with us this year and had a fantastic time too.  They were dancing away to Queen music at the disco each night.
I have all this week off work so hoping to get some major crafty time in.  I am taking my youngest daughter back to university on Thursday.  She just has two exams left and then she will be finished.  This four years are gone by really quickly and it only seems like yesterday that we were dropping her off for her first day.

I did have a little time in the craft room yesterday and here is the result.

I used some Glitter Frosting Paste that I purchased at Ally Pally from here.  I used a stencil for the design.  The thing I like about this glitter paste is the drying time.  It is touch dry in a couple of minutes but you can speed up the drying process by using your heat tool.  I inked round the edges with some distress ink and backed the image onto black card.  Some crushed card candi was used for the corners.
The biggest problem I had was getting a decent photograph.  I really enjoyed using the glitter paste and it really does make for a quick card.

Thanks for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I do appreciate it and will try my best to visit your blog in return.  It may take me a bit of time but I will get there in the end.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Cutie Pie - Clean and simple
Allsorts - Flowers
Pile It On - Colour challenge

Celebrate the Occasion - Clean and simple

Let's Celebrate
Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs and the prize for the winner is their choice of either 3 digis or 1 stamp.

Where does the time go?

Hope you are all well.  Just wanted to let you all know that I am going away for the weekend today and won't be back until Monday.  We are going to the annual Queen convention which is organised by the International Queen fan club.  We are big fans of Freddie Mercury and Queen and have been going to the convention for quite a few years now.  A whole weekend of live bands and entertainment celebrating the music of Queen.
As I will not have any internet access I have scheduled some posts for the weekend so just hoping that blogger behaves itself.  I will be back on Monday so will have a big catch up on Monday evening.  My apologies if I have not been around to visit all your blogs this week.  Time has not been on my side.
I have noticed that I am now up to 279 followers.  Wow, never thought I would get to 50 when I first started blogging. Thank you all so much for your support and for wanting to follow me.

Right, got to go now and finish my last minute packing. Take care and will be around on Monday when I get back.

Life's Special Occasions

A busy day today as this is my second post.
A new challenge starts today over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:
Life's Special Occasions
Simply create a project celebrating any of the numerous special occasions that we celebrate.

Our sponsor for this challenge is A Day for Daisies and the design team were lucky enough to be able to use images from the sponsor for our inspiration projects.  The prize for the winner is a $12 gift certificate.

I used this gorgeous wedding bells image to create a wedding card.  The image is coloured with promarkers.  I added some glitter to the bells and cut the image out.  For the card itself I cut an aperture using my dies and then created a trellis but cutting little strips of card and weaving them together.  I than attched this to the back of the aperture.  The flowers were all made using punches and I added lots of pearls.  I also punched out some little butterflies.  Kept the colours a lovely soft shade of pink.  I also used some of my peel offs which normally don't see the light of day lol.

I hope you like and I am looking forward to seeing all your creations.  Just pop here to upload your creations.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lisa B - Wedding
Great Impressions - Pastel colours and/or polka dots
Stamping Sensations - Special Occasions

My monochrome angel

Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.  Mine has been great so far but will update you on that in a later post.
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz.  Kobie from Hobbycutz produces some beautiful wooden lasercut embellishments and other items.  They are fabulous and super for adding a different dimension to your creations.  Just pop over to the store to check out what is available.

Our theme for this challenge is
Monochromatic

We have two fab sponsors for the challenge.

Kenny K downloads and the winner will receive 3 free digi images

Iva Nova Chest owned by our own design team member Natali and the winner will receive this selection of ribbons and flowers.

If anyone uses any Hobbycutz products there will also be an additional draw for a £5 voucher.
But the prizes don't stop there.  For this challenge there will also be an additional two winners who will receive a £7.50 voucher for the Hobbycutz store.
So what are you waiting for.  Hop over to the challenge blog, check out the inspiration from the design team and get those entries in.

Here is my inspiration project using an image from Kenny K.

As you can see I went with variations of purple for my creation.  I coloured the image with promarkers and then cut it out.  Now when I was cutting the image out I dropped it onto my work table.  It landed on top of my Hobbycutz pieces that I had out at the time.  One of the pieces it landed on made it look like she had wings.  So that's how my creation was born.  I added glitter to the piece and think it looks quite cool.  I added some ribbon and another piece from Hobbycutz which was the heart.  Some distress ink round the heart, a rose and some little pins made a lovely embellishment.  The sentiment was in my stash and says 'Daughters like you are precious and few'.  I thought it fitted the image really well.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing your entries.

Hope you are all well.  Its Saturday and time for a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.  This is a scheduled post as hopefully, if all has gone to plan, when this post goes live I will be on a train going to London for the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking show.  Think I may be rather tired later as I went to see 'Meat Loaf'' in concert last night too.

Something a bit different for you this week at A Gem of a Challenge as we have a sketch challenge.  Just use the sketch provided here for your project.

The image and papers that I used can both be found at Pink Gem.  The digi image is currently available as a free image.  I did the sentiment on my computer and thought it fitted quite nicely with the image.  Some ribbon, gems and a die cut from Memory Box finished the card.

Birdhouse Birthday

Just a quick post as I am currently getting ready to go and see my rock legend 'Meat Loaf''.  This is his final tour and I am so excited to be going.  I have seen him five times already but he never fails to disappoint.  And if that wasn't enough excitement for one weekend I am going to Ally Pally with my Mum tomorrow.  Eeek (little squeal of excitement).

The card that I am sharing today was made a few weeks ago for my Mum's birthday.  She also makes cards so it can be quite difficulty coming up with something for her.

I used a card blank from Craftwork cards.  I covered it with some paper from my stash and then used some candi for the edges.  I used an embossing tool to crush each piece of candi and then added a blob of stickles to each centre.  The flowers were cut using one of my spellbinders dies.  I used a combination of glitter card, pink and green card.  A happy birthday sentiment, some punched butterflies and liquid pearls completed the card.
Mum loved it and I breathed a sigh of relief.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to hearing what you think.  I will update you on Sunday about Meat Loaf and Ally Pally.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

White on White at Penny's

Hope you are all well.  Halfway through the working week and I am now on countdown to the weekend.  I am so looking forward to this weekend.  On Friday evening me and hubby are off to Birmingham to see the rock legend that is 'Meat Loaf'.  He has announced that this is going to be his final tour and I am so glad I got tickets.  I have seen him five times already over the years but he never disappoints.  Such a showman and just love his music.  Then on Saturday morning I have to be up bright and early as me and mum are going to Ally Pally for the big stamp and scrapbooking show.  I have a wish list as long as my arm of goodies I would like.  But I am sure that hubby will understand that I do need all of it lol.

Anyway, enough waffle and onto my card post for today.  A new challenge is starting over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges today.  Our theme for this challenge is:
White on White

Our two fab sponsors for this challenge are StampArt Design and Delicious Doodles.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full details and to enter the challenge.

For my project I used a super image from StampArt Design called Pretty Petals which can be found here.

Now the challenge rules are that the image can be coloured but I decided to just add a bit of shading - talk about make it difficult lol.  I used lots of embossing and die cuts to create interest.  I also added ribbon and pearls and pierced around the edge of the card to add interest.
I think the most difficult part of all this was trying to get a decent photograph lol.

This is the first full white on white card I have done so would be interested to hear what you think.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Card Makin Mamas - No patterned paper

We have two great sponsors for this challenge:

Just pop over to Forever Friends to find out full details and to enter the challenge.  The design team have been very busy producing some gorgeous inspiration projects for the challenge.

I have two cards to share with you:

I have used a fab image from Michelle Perkett for this card.  I coloured it with promarkers, cut it out using one of my dies and inked the edges.  The papers are from my scraps box.  I used a corner punch for the little corners.  Some ribbon and flowers from my stash finished the card.

Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes with ribbon
Little Miss Muffet - Anything goes

My second card is using a cute Forever Friends decoupage image.  The papers for this one are from Bearly Mine.  I made the flowers myself using a punch and used that fab corner punch again.  I found this sentiment is my stash and just love it.  Think it really suits the image and mean that the card could be used for several different occasions - anniversary, wedding or engagement springs to mind.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
