Dream Valley Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are well and having a good weekend.  I decided that this morning was the perfect time to tackle the cupboard that stores my daughters shoes.  They were just thrown into a couple of large plastic boxes and spilling out everywhere.  So we went and bought some shelving units for them to keep all their shoes on.  So much tidier and much easier to get at the shoes.  Don't know about you but I get a real feeling of satisfaction when tackling a job like decluttering and organising.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley.  Sadly, this is my last project as part of the design team.  Dream Valley was the first design team I joined and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.  But I feel that now is the right time to move onto pastures new.  Thank you Dream Valley for having me on your team and for believing in me in the first place.

Now for this fortnight's challenge our theme is:
Fathers Day/Male

For my project I created four central panels by stamping onto kraft card with two different Papermania stamps that I have.  The Fathers Day stamp is from Wild Rose Studio.  I added some ribbon across the centre and some faux stitching.  Another simple card but very effective.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creations.  For full details of the challenge and to upload your entry just pop over to Dream Valley.  While you're over there check out the inspiration from the rest of the design team.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Penny Black and More - CAS
Anything goes - Fathers Day
Aud Sentiments - Anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - Stitching real/faux

For Dad

Hi Folks
Well, it's been a busy week at work but the weekend has finally arrived.  Going to have to get some crafty time in this weekend as next weekend I am away on a hen weekend from Friday till Monday.  So looking forward to it.  There are 14 of us going and we have rented out this super beach house at Norfolk.  It is right opposite the beach and has a hot tub and sauna as well.  Lots of girly pampering and drinking me thinks lol.

Anyway just wanted to pop by with a little simple card that I have done for Fathers Day.

I used one of the little Fizzy Moon stamps.  I coloured with promarkers and added some glossy accents to the froth of the beer before cutting out and mounting onto some card.  The button was an old one and I gave it the decopatch treatment.  A bit of twine and some faux stitching finished the card.
Simple but effective.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  My apologies in advance if I don't get round to doing a lot of commenting this week.  Lots of things to do before I go away next weekend.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Ready Teddy Go - Who's the Daddy
Penny Black and More - CAS

Vintage Amelia

Morning Folks
Hope you are all having a good week.
Just popping by to share a quick card that I made last night using one of the gorgeous vintage images from Pink Gem Designs.

The image is Amelia and I teamed her up with some vintage papers which are also available from Pink Gem. I wanted a vintagy look so decided to keep the image quite subtle.  I used some distress ink to add an aged look to the image die.  I then used chalks to give some slight colour to the image.  Think it worked quite well.    Didn't want to go overboard on the embellishments so just added some lace, some flowers, a sentiment and a few pearls.

Thanks for popping by and would love to hear what you think.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Hobby House - Anything goes
Charisma Cardz - Layers
Aud Sentiments - Anything goes

Corrosive Challenges - Animal Antics

Hi Folks
Been a bit busy round here this morning.  My youngest daughter and her best friend are off the Majorca on their holidays this afternoon.  The holiday is a pressie from hubby and I for her birthday in August and also for successfully completing four years at university.  She hasn't had her overall results yet but from individual module results she is definitely on target for a pass.  We are so proud of her, she had worked really hard over the last four weeks and definitely deserves a holiday.

Today also sees the start of a new challenge over at Corrosive Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:
Animal Antics

Our sponsor for this challenge is the wonderful QKR Stampede.

I used this lovely image from our sponsor called Party Cat.  I used my trusty promarkers to colour him in and edged around the edge of the diecut with some distress ink.  I had this fab paper from Papemania in my stash so went with the bright orange theme.

Hobbycutz Challenges - Fathers Day/Masculine

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Hobbycutz Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is:
Fathers Day/Masculine

We have two great sponsors this time around - Fairy Dust Crafts and Iva Nova Chest.  Just pop over to the challenge blog for full details of the prizes on offer and to enter the challenge.

Now for my inspiration project this week I have done something a bit different - an altered box.

This box started out as a plain wooden box available from Hobbycutz.  I painted it with a light coat of acrylic paint and sanded it back to give an aged look.  I then added gilded flakes around the edges.  The little character and the pirate mat are from one of our sponsors Fairy Dust Crafts.  Some metal corners, gems and peel off letters completed the top of the box.

For the sides of the box I added some more gilding flakes, some ribbon and gems.
I thought that this would make an ideal gift box for a Fathers Day gift.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your creation.  For more inspiration check out the awesome work of my teamies over at Hobbycutz Challenges.

A Gem of a Challenge - Emboss It

Hi Everyone
Yippee, it's Saturday and two whole days without work.  I do love weekends.

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.  Our theme for this week (chosen by me) is:

Just use embossing somewhere on your project.  This could be dry embossing or heat embossing, whatever you want.

Our prize for the winner is....

of the winners choice from Pink Gem Designs.

I used the image Andy with Guitar for my project.  I used the pre-coloured image which I find so useful for quick cards.  For the background I used a stencil of the guitar and music notes.  I used a resist technique using heat embossing and distress inks.  The background was then matted onto some black card an patterned paper from my stash.  I did lightly ink the edges of the patterned paper.

Happy, Happy News

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well and enjoying your Friday.  A nice weekend coming up which promises to be nice and sunny, what more could you ask for.

Just wanted to pop by to share my happy news with you.  I have been invited by the lovely Linda Simpson to join the design team on the Imagination Crafts Challenge Blog.  I am so thrilled to be part of the team working with some beautiful products from Imagination Crafts.  Our challenges will start on July 1st so why not pop over to the challenge blog and become a follower so you don't miss it.  Inspiration Crafts also have their own blog here with lots of ideas and inspiration.

Here is a card I made using Inspiration Crafts products.

Imagination Crafts products

I stamped the image onto white card and cut it out using my Spellbinders Die 'Marvellous Squares'.  I added some distress ink and a bit of colour to the flowers and leaves.  For the dragonflies the image was stamped onto acetate and Sparkle Medium was used to create the sparkle.  The background was done by using distress ink to colour some white card.  I then stamped the little dragonfly stamp (that comes with the set) randomly using Versamark and gold Mica powder was added to the stamping.
Some ribbon, gems and flowers from my stash finished the card off.

Thanks for popping by and hope you will all come and join us on July 1st.

Morning Everyone
Well, it's another lovely sunny morning here today.  Let's hope they have the air conditioning on at work lol.
My card share today is a card that I made at the weekend using some of my neglected craft stash.

The background for my card was done using Sparkle Medium and a stencil from Imagination Crafts.  I then matted this onto some gold mirror card.  The sentiment is also from Imagination Crafts.  I cut it out using one of my dies and matted this onto mirror card.  I used some distress ink around the edges of the background and also on the sentiment.  Some ribbon and flowers from my stash completed the card.

Dream Valley Challenges

Hi Everyone
Hope you have all been enjoying your weekend.  The sun has been shining here and so we made the most of it this afternoon by having a barbecue.  We bought a new gas barbecue last year and only used it twice so we are determined to make the most of any opportunity that comes along.  Being at work all week it is nice to be able to spend a bit of time outside at the weekend.  But it's back to the grindstone tomorrow as hubby didn't win the lottery again lol.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is
Sports

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Di's Digi Stamps with a prize of a $10 gift voucher for their on line store.

I went with a racing car theme and used this super little image from Crafts U Print.  I designed my own background using a stencil mask and some sparkle medium.  I did add a little mica powder to the background too in an attempt to make it look a bit more distressed.  A little ribbon across the centre just finished it off.  A simple easy card but great fun to do.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  For more inspiration just pop over to Dream Valley.  We are also having a DT call at the moment so why not try out.

All of the design team have used images from our sponsors for our inspiration projects.  I have used a lovely image from Sassy Studio.

I decided to go for a colour scheme of black, white and red.  The image is coloured using promarkers and I used some distress ink around the edges of the image and the papers.  The papers are from the Papermania capsule collection.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and I added a black feather and pin behind it.  The sentiment is acting as the stopper to keep the card closed.

I really enjoyed making this card as it was a chance to try something new.  For full details of the challenge just pop over to Penny's.  You can also check out the super creations from the rest of the design team.  Why not have a go at doing one yourself?  Looking forward to seeing what you create.

It'a all about the children at Forever Friends

Morning Everyone
Well, another weekend has flown by.  We collected our daughter from university on Saturday.  She has just completed four years of study and should be graduating in July.  Still trying to find room and places for all the stuff she has accumulated over four years.  Still, it is nice to have her home and she is now starting on the difficult task of finding a job.

Anyway, today sees the start of a new fortnightlychallenge over at Forever Friends Challenges.  Our theme for this fortnight is
Make a card/project for a child

We have two sponsors joining us for this challenge:

I have made two projects for the challenge.

I used a cute image from A Day for Daisies for this card.  Kept the design quite simple and a minimum of embellishments, some lace, card candi and a crotchet flower.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
A Little Bit Crafty - Kraft it
Crafty Boots - Celebrations
Stamp N Doodle - Anything goes
Pretty Little Ribbon - Lace
Crafts and Me - Use a digi
QKR Stampede - Childrens cards or tags
OSAAT - Use a digi
Love to Create - Something for kids

My second card features a little Forever Friends bear.  I used a rubber stamp from the new Kraft Notes range from Papermania.  I coloured him in using distress inks.  I used some papers from my stash (sorry, not sure where they are from).  I created a heart aperture and matted and layered.  I thought this made an ideal first birthday card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz - No digis allowed
Chocolate, coffee and cards - Use a number
Allsorts - True blue
Kaboodle Doodles - Stripes and/or circles

Sadly, this will be the last Forever Friends challenge.  It is time to say goodbye to these cute little bears and take things in a new direction.
The good news is that the entire design team is moving over to a brand new weekly challenge blog called Crafty Friends.  The first challenge will go live on June 1st and we hope you will all join us.

Thanks for popping by.  Do hope you will stop by the Forever Friends challenge blog to check out all the details for our last challenge and to feast your eyes on the wonderful inspiration projects from the rest of the design team.
Looking forward to seeing all your entries.
